Meet the New Sherrif of Mumbai
Dr (Mrs) Indu Shahani is the Principal of H. R. College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai since 2000, formerly Vice-Principal since 1990, with 33 years of teaching experience.
As Director, Academics on the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board (HSNCB), she is responsible for enhancing the academic standards of the 29 educational institutions managed by the HSNCB.
Besides, Dr. Shahani is visiting faculty at the UK Berkeley, and school of Management NJIT, USA and has developed several linkages for student and faculty exchanges with leading universities in USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand. She is also Vice-President, Board of Governors, International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBU)
The University of Mumbai has appointed her to the privileged and prestigious positions of Member, Academic Council; Member, Faculty of Commerce; and Member, Board of Studies in Business Management.
Besides being a prominent Rotarian, she is Member, Audit and Corporate Governance Committee of HSBC; Member, All India Management Association (AIMA); Member, Women's Empowerment National Committee of CII; and Member, Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Among Youth (SPICMACAY)
Last but not the least she also has a presence in the corporate sector, being a Director on the Boards of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Bajaj Electricals Ltd.
